Exploding Pagers cause Havoc in Lebanon

Hundreds of members of Hezbollah have been severely injured when pagers or radios they use for communication detonated simultaneously.

The event unfolded in various locations, including Beirut’s southern suburbs, Nabatieh, and other Hezbollah-controlled areas. Lebanese authorities quickly declared a mass casualty event, and hospitals are overwhelmed with urgent calls for blood donations.

Initial reports, quite expectedly, point to a possible Israeli operation. It is suggested that the Israel Defense Forces may have used advanced cyber warfare techniques to breach Hezbollah’s communication systems, detonating the pagers remotely or have managed to rig the devices somewhere along the supply chain in advance.

The IDF have not commented on the matter but for Hezbollah this is the largest security breach they’ve faced in over a year of conflict.
