Commander Sabahi-Fard, the commander of Iran’s Air Defense Force, Speaking to journalists at Iran’s Student News Network declared that the Iranian Air Defense Force is at the "peak of its power" and has achieved complete self-sufficiency, with all equipment being domestically produced and ahead of global technological standards.
He also added, that Iran's air defense systems have been developed in anticipation of potential threats.
The messaging coming amid heightened tensions with the West, where Iran has been increasingly vocal about its military readiness. The general warned that any miscalculation by adversaries would be met with a decisive and overwhelming response.
This daily show of strength also reveals Iran's internal concerns following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a senior figure associated with Hamas, on Iranian soil, the incident having fuelled fears within the Iranian leadership about the possibility of internal threats and the capabilities of hostile entities to strike within the country.
The assassination has likely reinforced Iran's resolve to improve its defensive capability but perhaps hold off on an offensive strike.
