Just as Iraq becomes more stable, A Lion was seen wandering the streets of Basra this week looking for food!

We’re just hoping it doesn’t find any of the massive amount of amphetamines being found in Basra !

There were also the normal developments in diplomacy, economic reform, and security dynamics with Al-Sudani’s taking every opportunity to talk about the Gaza conflict with global leaders

Big changes on route to stabilise the dinar under mounting pressure, and progress on the transformative Grand Faw Port project.

Iraq’s ramped up counter-terrorism operations and UK collaboration to dismantle human smuggling networks, while new digital banking initiatives are a good move towards economic modernisation.

Take a look at the full report for in-depth insights and please be careful of the Lions!

And as ever….The Grid North team remain ready to deliver comprehensive reports, data analysis and tailored travel security and security advisory services with actionable insights into Iraq and the broader MENA region.

With a team of “Down to Earth” consultants equipped to provide "Ground Truth," develop strategic plans, and achieve tangible results without the waffle and nonsense speak or an up-sell of security services.
